World Television Day 2020: Every year on November 21, ‘World Television Day’ is celebrated worldwide to highlight the importance and value of television. The invention of television has revolutionized the world, a powerful mass media that provides information about entertainment, education, far-flung news and politics related activities. TV providing information is both a source of education and entertainment. Television is the most beautiful invention of science.

World Television Day is reminiscent of the power of visual media and it helps shape public opinion and influence world politics. TV not only affects public opinion but also takes big decisions.

When did World Television Day begin?

The first World Television Forum began on 21 November 1996, which was named World Television Day by the United Nations General Assembly. Today, in every country, meetings are held in different places about people on television and their role.

Who invented TV:

TV was invented on 26 January 1926 by John Logie Baird. John Logie Baird and his assistant William Tytton are the first humans to first air on TV.

When did TV come to India:

TV first came to India in 1950. An engineering student from Chennai put television in front of everyone in the exhibition. The first television set in India was purchased by a wealthy Niyogi family from Kolkata. In 1965 All India Radio started daily TV transmission. In 1976, the government separated TV from All India Radio. The national television channel first debuted in 1982. This year also saw the first color TV in the country.

When did the name TV come into existence:

In 1907, television was recognized as a term in English and in 1948 the abbreviation TV came into existence.

First TV commercial:

The first television commercial to air on TV was in New York on July 1, 1941. The ad ran for a total of 20 seconds. At that time, TV commercials cost $ 9.
