Delhi, Lifestyle Desk. World Breastfeeding Week 2020: World Breastfeeding Week is  observed every year from 1 August to 7 August. Its main purpose is to promote breastfeeding only and only. Mother’s milk is like nectar for infants. By its use, the child remains safe and protected from malnutrition and diarrhea. Along with this, women also benefit from breastfeeding.

This reduces the risk of diseases such as breast cancer and pre-monopausal uterine cancer in women. Various awareness programs are conducted during World Breastfeeding Week. However, no public events are being held this year due to the corona virus epidemic. Let us know why breastfeeding is important for infants and what are its benefits-

Why breastfeeding is important for babies

Doctors always recommend giving breast milk to newborns. For this, breast milk should be given only after the birth of the baby. However, some rules should be kept in mind for breastfeeding women who become mothers for the first time. Because of inexperience, breastfeeding infants may cause diarrhea.

Anti-oxidants are found in mother’s milk along with essential nutrients, which leads to the development of the entire body of infants. Mother’s milk is the best food for infants. After the birth of the baby, the mother’s first milk is called colostrum, which keeps on coming out for 4-5 days. Consumption of this milk keeps the baby safe from many diseases. Breast milk should be fed from birth to 6 months.

Benefits of breastfeeding

In modern times, the importance of breastfeeding has reduced. Women use artificial milk instead of breastfeeding. This is adversely affecting the health of infants. While breastfeeding both mother and child benefit. According to experts, breastfeeding reduces the risk of many diseases in women, among which breast cancer and uterine cancer are prominent. Also, women are safe from diseases like diabetes, stress and heart attacks.
