Wonderful: 82 runs on just 16 balls, know how many balls you have scored

Read Time:2 Minute, 1 Second

This is rarely seen in T20 cricket when a batsman hits a destroyer century and still, his team has to face defeat.

Even after scoring a century in a T20 match, Anton Devcich could not save his team from a big 45-run defeat. This match was played in New Zealand where the Super Smash T20 League is being played. The teams were Central Districts and Northern Districts. Even though Davcich could not achieve the huge target of 224 runs from the Central team for his team, he entertained the audience a lot with his devastating century innings. After all, T20 cricket is identified with fours and sixes.

In the match, Central Districts scored 223 for 6 wickets while playing first. For the team, opener George Worker scored the highest 71 runs. In his innings of 42 balls, he hit 7 fours and three sixes. After that Doug Bracewell came down on the lower order and rained fours and sixes and took the team across 200. Bracewell hit an unbeaten 55 runs in his 25-ball innings with 4 fours and as many sixes. Wicketkeeper-batsman Dan Cleaver scored 27 off 21 balls and Josh Clarkson scored 25 off 13 balls.

Centurion completed by hitting a boundary

If the goal was big, Northern Districts should have started the beginning too, but it did not happen. For 30 runs, the team’s three batsmen returned to the pavilion. Meanwhile, captain Anton Devsich, who came out to bat at number four, took the front and kept running the process of scoring runs from one end. However, from the other end, they continued to see wickets falling. No batsman could support Davcich. In such a situation, he tried to get the team as close to the goal as possible and in the end, he was 45 runs away. Davcich scored 102 and he was run out as the last batsman. He completed a century by hitting a four off 48th ball. The team could score 178 runs for 9 wickets.

Anton Dawcich played 49 balls for 102 runs and hit 7 fours and 9 sixes. The interesting thing is that he scored 82 runs with 16 balls only with the help of fours and sixes. Despite this, his team also lost because a single batsman from the team could not reach the score of 20 runs.
