Will Khel Ratna and Arjun Award be wrested from Sushil Kumar Sports Ministry gave a statement

Sushil Kumar has received the Padma Shri, the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award and the Arjuna Award. Some people are demanding the withdrawal of the honor, as Sushil has been declared an accused in the murder case and has been arrested, but sports ministry sources say that until someone is convicted from the court Till then, the award cannot be withdrawn.

Sushil is also the president of the School Games Federation of India (SGFI). However, the Sports Ministry is yet to recognize the recent elections. After Sushil is trapped, his chances have also become insignificant. Vinod Tomar, assistant secretary of the Indian Wrestling Federation has already said that the wrestling image has been tarnished by this episode.

When Sushil was 14 years old, he came to Chhatrasal Stadium in Delhi and started his wrestling under the guidance of coach Satpal Singh. When he won a gold medal at the World Cadet Games in 1998, he did not look back. Commonwealth Championships, Asian Championships, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, World Championships and Olympics are the major tournaments where Sushil has won medals. The Asian Games and Olympics are the only sports where he could not win a gold medal. Sushil is India’s only world champion in wrestling and a three-time Commonwealth Games gold medalist.
