Why Mahima Kaul leaves Post amid Farmer Agitation Controversy

Read Time:1 Minute, 40 Second

Mahima Kaul, Twitter India’s Public Policy Director (India and South Asia), has resigned from her post. But Mahima Kaul will continue to handle the tweeter till March end of this year. He has held the post of public policy director of Twitter India for the last 5 years. But now Kaul has resigned due to personal reasons. Micro-blogging company Twitter has given information about leaving Mahima Kaul’s post on Sunday.

Mahima Kaul Resigned amidst the farmer’s agitation dispute

However, Mahima Kaul’s resignation comes at a time when the tweet and controversy related to the farmer movement is coming out. Let us know that recently the Central Government had directed to block the tweet handle of miscreants who spread violence during the Kisan agitation.

But the tweeter handle of the unruly farmers was unblocked by twitter without the government’s advice, leading to a dispute between the central government and Twitter India. Also, Twitter has been facing challenges for the past several months, especially when Twitter blocked the Twitter handle of Union Home Minister Amit Shah for some time in November 2020 last year.

Subsequently, in a January 2021 parliamentary committee meeting, Twitter officials were asked why the tweet handle of Home Minister Amit Shah was blocked.

A dispute between Central Government and Twitter

The resignation of Mahima Kaul was announced at a time when some international celebrities in India are trying to polarize India on Twitter. In the last few days, international celebrities have been instigating the peasant movement by tweeting about India’s internal affairs.

In such a situation, the government has given strict warning against the Western Interested Group, who are making wrong hashtags and comments on social media, which are completely beyond reality.

The government has issued a notice to Twitter, warning that if Twitter does not follow the government’s guidelines, strict action will be taken against it. Also directed to block the tweeting with objectionable hashtags about PM Narendra Modi
