According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Mumbai even today, the capital of the country will be cloudy throughout the day and there is also a possibility of light rain. Apart from this, normal monsoon showers will be seen over Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, and Interior Karnataka. Due to light rain on Monday, Delhi’s temperature remained normal. Rain is expected to pick up in Delhi in the next few days. The Meteorological Department has forecast rain with strong winds on Tuesday.

Many districts of Gujarat have received heavy rainfall. Khambhaliya tehsil of Devbhumi Dwarka district received 434 mm of rain in a day. The tehsil received 292 mm of rain during the two hours between 6 pm and 8 pm, which inundated many areas. Officials said that there was heavy rain throughout the day in Porbandar, Gir Somnath, Junagadh and Amreli districts of Saurashtra as well as Valsad and Navsari districts of South Gujarat. The Ahmedabad Center of the Indian Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rain in Saurashtra, North and South Gujarat during the next three.

The capital city of Lucknow and its surrounding areas received rain on Monday. According to the report of the Meteorological Center, the eastern parts of the state received rainfall at several places during the last 24 hours. At the same time, cloudbursts occurred in some places in the western parts of the state. The process of rain started in the capital Lucknow and adjoining districts since morning. However, as the day progressed, light sunshine increased the humidity. But by the evening, the weather again turned and changed. According to the meteorological bulletin, Rae Bareli received the highest rainfall of 18 cm during the last 24 hours. Apart from this, 12 in Kanpur, 11 in Ambedkar Nagar, nine in Kanpur, eight each in Maudha, Kunda and Fursatganj, seven in Basti, six each in Karvi, Lucknow, Allahabad and Hamirpur. Five-centimeter of rain was recorded in Karchana and Chandradipaghat. During the next 24 hours, it is expected to rain at most places in the eastern parts of the state, while at many places in the western parts. Heavy rainfall may occur at some places. This process of rain is likely to continue on July 8 and 9.

Some improvement in flood situation in Assam

There was some improvement in the flood situation in Assam though one person died. About four lakh people have been affected in the 15 districts of the state due to floods. According to the daily report of Assam State Disaster Response Authority (ASDMA) on the flood situation, one person died due to floods in Raha in Nagaon district. This year, 62 people have died in various incidents of floods and landslides this year. Of this, 38 people died in floods and 24 people died due to landslides. ASDMA said that 3.86 lakh people have been affected due to floods in Dhemaji, Shibsagar, Biswanath, Chirang, Nalbari, Barpeta, Kokrajhar, Dhubri, Goalpara, Kamrup, Morigaon, Naogaon, Golaghat, Jorhat and Tinsukia districts.

Light to moderate rain in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan

Light to moderate rains occurred in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan. Mercury remained down due to sporadic rains in Delhi. More rainfall is expected in the national capital in the next few days. The Safdarjung Observatory recorded 0.6 mm of rain and the maximum temperature was 36.2 degrees Celsius. The weather department has forecast light to moderate rain, thunderstorms and strong winds in Delhi on Tuesday.
