Wasim leads India

India’s Physically Challenged (Divyang) cricket team defeated Pakistan in the semi-finals of the T20 World Series in England on Monday and made it to the finals. The 25-year-old opener of the Indian team shone with this victory on the face of Wasim Khan. So far, Wasim felt extinguished this time due to not sharing the happiness of Eid with his family members.

Wasim is a resident of Gopalpura village in Anantnag district of Kashmir Valley. Since the decision of the Government of India to remove Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, communication contact with Gopalpura like other parts of the valley has been cut off from the rest of the country.

Wasim was worried about not being able to talk to his family during the World Series. Wasim told Aaj Tak / India Today over phone, ‘For the past few days I have not been able to contact my family nor any other relatives. Eid at home means new clothes, sweets, and celebrations. My desire was to sit miles away from home, that at least on Eid I could talk to them.

According to Wasim, although Gopalpura does not come in a sensitive area, silence has kept him worried. Wasim said, ‘As any enthusiastic cricketer, I tried to keep my focus focused on cricket. But it is not easy to bear the stress of completely disconnecting your family members. I have parents, brothers and sisters at home. There was nothing like happiness on this Eid.

Wasim had lost his right leg in an accident in his childhood. The hobby of cricket worked to add excitement to Wasim. Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s fan Wasim made his mark as a power hitter despite a physical challenge.

Known for his long sixes in regular cricket, Wasim said, “I started playing Divyang cricket for quite a while. Cricket has always been a passion for me. I am used to playing normal cricket. It takes a lot of hard work The field gets a little easier for me here. “

Wasim played a stormy inning of 69 off 43 balls thanks to 6 sixes against Pakistan in the semi-finals. Wasim is also expected to repeat his performance in the mega final. According to Wasim, he does not know whether his family came to know about his performance or not. Wasim has reached this stage after struggling through a long period of struggle.

Wasim now wants to reach home as soon as possible after the final so that he can share the joy of his achievement with his family and close ones.
