Three people have died in a gas leak incident at a chemical plant unit in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. This incident of gas leak has come to light in RR Venkatapuram village in Visakhapatnam district. According to the information, three people, including a child, have died in a gas leak incident in the LG Polymer Industry of RR Venkatapuram village. He died while undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
According to CP RK Meena of Visakhapatnam city, the gas leak has been controlled at the moment. NDRF teams have reached the spot. According to RK Meena the maximum impact of the gas leak was about one to one and a half km but its smell spread over an area of 2 to two and a half km. 100 to 120 people are currently hospitalized. A total of 3 persons have died in this incident. An FIR has been registered.

People were rushed to the hospital after complaining of eye irritation and shortness of breath in the incident that broke out in the LG polymer industry of RR Venkatapuram village. Police, fire tenders, ambulances have reached the spot and relief and rescue operations are going on. ACP Swaroop Rani of West Zone said that the leakage of chemical gas from the industry has spread over 3 km, while according to the news agency PTI, 70 people have been admitted to the hospital so far in this incident of gas leak in Visakhapatnam.
Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy inquired about the incident and directed the District Collector of Visakhapatnam to ensure proper medical care for the affected people. An eyewitness said that many people were lying unconscious on the ground. The incident took place at a polymer unit located around the Naduthota area near Gopalapatnam.
