Virat Kohli misses Dhoni, Rishabh Pant could not give the right advice!
The first match of the three-match ODI series played between India and West Indies was rained out. The match could not be played in full swing in Guyana amid continuous rains. In this match, Virat won the toss and decided to bowl first. West Indies came out to bat first. Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis came in to open the innings.
Actually the fourth over of the first innings in this match was Mo. Shami came to throw and on the fifth ball of this over LBW was appealed against Evin Lewis. However, the umpire rejected the appeal. After this, Captain Kohli discussed with Shami and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant to take DRS, but no concrete result was found and Team India did not take DRS. Both the bowler and the wicketkeeper had doubts as to whether the ball was hitting the wicket.
At the same time, when the replay was shown, everyone was surprised because Shami’s ball was going straight to the wicket and Evin Lewis was out. If Team India used DRS here, Lewis would have been out but Virat could not get the right advice. Virat must have remembered Dhoni here because he used to give accurate advice in such cases. Whereas Rishabh could not understand whether the ball was even hitting the wicket or not.
Evin Lewis got life on one run and after that he scored an unbeaten 40 off 36 balls for his team and hit two fours and three sixes in this innings. Lewis looked very dangerous in this match and he took full advantage of the life he got. Later this match could not be played due to rain.
