Rohit Sharma had scored a brilliant 68 in the practice match played before the Test series. Ignoring Rohit’s performance, Virat did not include him in the playing XI.

Captain Virat Kohli has preferred Hanuma Vihari over Rohit Sharma. Fans seem quite annoyed with this decision of the Indian captain. After the defeat in the World Cup 2019 semi-finals, there were reports of mutual differences between Rohit and Virat.
