The film enjoyed a 72.58% occupancy rate in Tamil theaters on Saturday, underscoring its strong regional appeal.

In terms of critical reception, “GOAT” has been met with positive reviews. The Hindustan Times highlighted the film’s engaging first half, which sets up an intriguing interval block. The initial part of the film is marked by a mix of family drama and high-octane action sequences set against various global locations. The narrative’s momentum is maintained with a gripping face-off between the characters Gandhi and Sanjay after the interval, contributing to the film’s fast-paced progression.

Venkat Prabhu, the film’s director, is noted for his apparent admiration for Vijay. This enthusiasm is reflected throughout the movie, with numerous nods to Vijay’s previous works in Kollywood, such as “Ghilli” and “Thirumalai.” The climax of the film particularly underscores this homage, wrapping up the action-packed story on a high note.

Overall, “GOAT” has successfully captured the audience’s attention with its mix of action, drama, and a celebratory nod to Vijay’s cinematic legacy, ensuring a strong box office performance and widespread viewer engagement.
