United nation will give 60 lakh dollar help to taliban
The proposed $6 million fund will be handed over to Taliban fighters as monthly expenses next year. Since the same fighters are also protecting UN installations in Afghanistan.
The United Nations is proposing to give about 6 million dollars ([about Rs 45.33 crore] to the Taliban government for the security of Afghanistan. It will give this aid through the same head of the Taliban government’s interior ministry, which has been sanctioned by the United Nations and the United States. He is also wanted for the FBI. One of the main Taliban leaders and Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani is under sanctions. He is accused of carrying out several attacks in the last twenty years.
According to UN documents, the proposed fund would be handed over to Taliban fighters as monthly expenses next year. Since the same fighters are also protecting UN installations in Afghanistan. Monthly food allowances will be given from this amount. These allowances will be released under an agreement between the previous Afghan government and the United Nations.
Sources say that UN spokesman Farhan Haq said that his officers are working in different areas and feel very insecure. Several experts questioned the proposed aid, saying the UN and the US were violating sanctions imposed on them by helping the Taliban and their leaders.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the situation in Afghanistan is only getting worse. Things would improve if the US released Kabul’s assets and encashed its banking system. Keep in mind that more than $ 9 billion worth of Afghan assets are confiscated abroad.
Imran Khan said that Afghanistan’s economic troubles are man-made. It is noteworthy that on August 15 this year, the Taliban captured Afghanistan amidst the departure of US forces. Since then all international aid to Afghanistan has been withheld. Therefore, Afghanistan is facing a severe economic crisis.
