Type-2 Diabetes Eating fruits and vegetables daily reduces the risk of heart disease stroke and many cancers.
However, there has been new research in the case of type-2 diabetes.

New Delhi, Lifestyle Desk. Type-2 Diabetes: Including a good amount of fruits and vegetables in your diet every day is considered a sign of a healthy diet. This is because eating fruits and vegetables daily reduces the risk of heart disease, stroke and many cancers. However, the role of fruits and vegetables in preventing type-2 diabetes is still unclear.

Benefit from fruits and vegetables

The evidence found in the research conducted so far is unstable because in most cases participants are asked to remember what they ate – which is often not true. However, recent research has shown that people who eat more fruits and vegetables every day have half the risk of developing type-2 diabetes than those who eat less fruits and vegetables.

What did research find

Because research suggests that type-2 diabetes can be prevented through a healthy diet, so we wanted to know how important it is to eat fruits and vegetables. We conducted the world’s largest study, which measured the difference in blood levels of vitamins in the body when eating fruits and vegetables.

A group of over 3 lakh people was researched for this study. We specifically studied the biomarker in 10,000 people who developed type 2 diabetes during follow-up and compared them with 13,500 people who did not.

We found that the higher the biomarker score level, the lower the risk of future type 2 diabetes. We also found that eating about 66 grams of fruits and vegetables daily can reduce the risk of type-2 diabetes by a quarter.

You can include 7 cherry tomatoes, two Brockley pieces or a banana in a bar meal. It is not new that fruits and vegetables must be eaten to maintain good health. Despite this, most people avoid eating them. This research has found, if you increase the amount of fruits and vegetables in your diet even slightly, then the risk of getting type-2 diabetes can be reduced to a great extent.
