These trains of NER running at the speed of bullock cart, completing the distance of 50 km in four hours

The speed of trains has been derailed even before the fog on the routes of North Eastern Railway. It is taking more than four hours to cover the distance of about 50 km from Deoria to Gorakhpur. Passengers’ problems have increased. There is resentment among the people. Passengers are saying that in such a time, even Gorakhpur bullock cart will reach Deoria.

Local and long distance trains including Vaishali, Bagh, Shalimar, Maurya, and Intercity running on Gorakhpur route are getting delayed every day. After leaving Deoria, the speed of the trains slowed down. Trains are running from Chauri Chaura without stopping at Sardarnagar, Kusmhi and Gorakhpur Cantt. Dozens of trains were delayed on Wednesday. Passengers say that this problem has increased here for a few days. Even on Thursday, Maurya and Intercity had come and stood in Gorakhpur Cantt even after reaching on time. Even after coming near Gorakhpur, people are not able to reach home on time.

Trains getting late even after running on electric engine

This is when the Northeast Railway is preparing to run trains at a speed of 110 to 130 kmph. For this, railway lines, sleepers, points and signals are being repaired. Anyway, 90 percent of the railway lines of the North Eastern Railway have been electrified. Trains are running on electric locomotives. The main rail route has been doubling from Barabanki to Chhapra via Gorakhpur. But the trains are not able to reach the destination on time. Still running on old timetable basis.

Gorakhpur Junction’s broadcasting system has collapsed

The broadcasting system installed at Gorakhpur Junction to give updated information about trains to the passengers is completely demolished. The display boards installed in place are often getting turned off. Even after running, they are not able to give correct information of trains. Even on the announcement system, the updated information about the arrival and departure of trains is not available. The employees sitting at the inquiry counter are also unable to inform the passengers about the trains. People’s problems have increased.

Status of some trains running on Wednesday

12553 Vaishali Express left Deoria at 3.51 hrs and reached Gorakhpur at 7.21 hrs.

15021 Shalimar Express left Deoria at 3.33 pm and reached Gorakhpur at 7.39 pm.

15130 Intercity Express left Deoria at 4.48 pm and reached Gorakhpur at 8.47 pm.

13019 Bagh Express left Deoria at 5.32 PM and reached Gorakhpur Junction at 9.02 PM.

The punctuality of trains on the route of North Eastern Railway is about 90 percent. On Wednesday, some trains were delayed at Kusmhi station due to a technical problem. It has been repaired. Work related to third line at Kusmhi railway station is also in progress. Safety and punctuality is the first priority of the Railways. Its monitoring is done daily by high level officials. – Pankaj Kumar Singh, Chief Public Relations Officer- North Eastern Railway.
