In Uttar Pradesh, the BJP government led by Yogi Adityanath completed four years on Friday. On this occasion, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath mentioned the achievements of his government during four years.
His government also promoted these achievements by advertising in all the big newspapers.
We are taking a look at these claims of the UP government and reviewing the main issues affecting the people directly.
The government claims: The strict policies of the government against crime have brought positive results in four years.
Fact: Crime is increasing in Uttar Pradesh but since 2017, the rate of increase in crime has decreased. We looked at the data of the National Crime Records Bureau during the four years of the previous Samajwadi Party government and the Yogi government.
Crime in Uttar Pradesh has been increasing in the last eight years, but since 2012, the rate of increase in crime has been going up and down.
In 2012 and 2015, the rate of increase in crime was less than in the year 2019. Crimes then increased at the rate of 1.5 percent and 0.6 percent.
Yogi Adityanath took the power of UP in the year 2017. This year, crime increased by 10 percent, the next year also the rate of increase in crime was 10 percent, while in the year 2019 it was 3 percent.
However, in the year 2019, the highest number of crimes were registered in the country under the Indian Penal Code in Uttar Pradesh.
Claim : There has been no riot in the state in the last four years .
Fact: The claim that there is no riot is false.
The incidents of communal riots in Uttar Pradesh have decreased since 2018, but still the cases related to riots in UP are the most reported after Maharashtra and Bihar.
According to NCRB data, in 2016, 8016 riot cases were registered in UP. In the year 2017, this number was 8990 while in the year 2018, 8909 cases and in 2019 5714 cases were registered.
Even after Yogi Adityanath took power in the year 2017, it was claimed that the riots in UP have stopped. But the official data is exactly the opposite of his claims.
Claim : the case of murder against the 2016-17, 19 percent and 5 percent in rape cases deficiency has .
Fact: It is true that cases of rape and murder have reduced in UP, but Uttar Pradesh is among the leading states in these crimes as compared to the rest of the provinces of the country.
We compared the rape cases in UP in 2016 and 2019. Yogi took power in 2017.
According to the current data, there has been a decrease of 36% in the cases of rape recorded in UP between 2016 and 2019 while the Chief Minister claimed a reduction of 45%.
Uttar Pradesh is second in rape cases in India.
There has also been a decrease of 25% in murder cases between 2016 and 2019, but the state is still among the provinces registering the highest number of murder cases.
Claim: The per capita income in the state has doubled. The per capita income has increased from Rs 47116 in the year 2015-16 to Rs 94, 495 today.
Fact: According to the Department of Economic and Statistics, Planning Institute of Uttar Pradesh, this claim is false.
After Yogi Adityanath took power in 2017, there was a four percent drop in per capita income in the first year.
It increased by two percent in the next year, but in the next two years it came down to five percent.
