Team India has been announced for India’s three-match T20 domestic series starting in Dharamsala from September 15 against South Africa.

Dhoni OUT, Hardik return

Team India has been announced for India’s three-match T20 domestic series starting in Dharamsala from September 15 against South Africa. The BCCI announced the team on Thursday. Hardik Pandya is back in this team. At the same time, Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s name is missing.

Already, speculations were being made that Dhoni would not get a place in the team against South Africa. With the announcement of the team, this thing was also stamped. Apart from captain Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Krunal Pandya, Washington Sundar, Rahul Chahar, Khalil Ahmed, Deepak Chahar, and Navdeep Saini Has got a place in the team.

The first match in this series will be played in Dharamshala. At the same time, the other two matches will be played in Mohali (18 September) and Bengaluru (22 September). Let us know that recently, Team India had defeated the West Indies 3–0.

Prior to the selection of the team, it was also said that the players will be selected keeping in mind the World T20 to be held in Australia on October 2020. If this thing is considered correct then there are clear indications that Mahendra Singh Dhoni will not be seen in the upcoming World T20.

A senior BCCI official said on Wednesday, a day before the team selection, “Before the first match of the World T20, the Indian team will play only 22 T20 Internationals and the selectors are clear that it is time to move on.” ‘

He had said, “They are planning to create a pool of 3 wicketkeepers for limited-overs especially for T20.” The absence of Dhoni’s name in the selected team after this BCCI official’s statement also raises the question of which 3 wicketkeepers the board is talking about.

It is obvious that Rishabh Pant’s name is included in this team and he has been with Team India for the last several matches, in which case the board agrees on his name. Apart from him, two other wicketkeepers, Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson are being seen as substitutes. Pant will remain the first option in all formats as the selectors will also take fitness and workload management into consideration.
