Talk between PM Modi and Biden, what are the statements of both

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to US President Joe Biden on the phone on Monday. During this, the two leaders discussed many regional issues besides sharing priorities.

Let us tell you that this was the first conversation between the two leaders after Biden took over the post last month. PM Modi said in a tweet that he gave his best wishes to the US President, along with the two leaders agreed to further enhance cooperation against climate change.

He said in his tweet, “President Biden and I are committed to a rule-based system. We look forward to strengthening the strategic partnership for peace and security in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond. ”

On Monday, the White House issued a statement regarding this conversation,

“President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. spoke with India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, pledging that the United States and India will work together to win the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, reorient their partnership on climate change, towards the global economy. We will rebuild in such a way that the people of both countries benefit from it, and will stand together against the crisis of global terrorism.

“The President underscored his desire to protect democratic institutions and norms around the world and said that a common commitment to democratic values ​​is the basis of the US-India relationship.”

Regarding the conversation, the statement of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs says,

“He (both leaders) noted that the India-US partnership is firmly rooted in a shared commitment to democratic values ​​and shared strategic interests.”
The Prime Minister and President Biden also emphasized on the challenge of global climate change. The Prime Minister welcomed President Biden’s decision to re-commit to the Paris Agreement. ”
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, PM Modi has also invited President Biden and America’s First Lady Dr. Jill Biden to visit India.
