After the team selection, Prasad said, ‘We have moved forward, we are clear in our thoughts. We are clear since the World Cup. We started supporting Rishabh Pant and saw him doing well. They may not have done well, but we have made it clear that we will only pay attention to them.
He said, ‘After the World Cup, we are looking at the options of youth. So you can understand our thinking. We have definitely spoken to Dhoni and he has also supported our talk of supporting the youth.
Ganguly, however, made it clear that he was with Dhoni while taking charge of the post of president on Wednesday. Ganguly had said, ‘I don’t know what’s going on in his mind. India is proud of Dhoni. Sanju Samson has also been selected in the T20 squad for Bangladesh. On Samson’s selection, Prasad said, ‘Sanju Samson has got a place in the team as a batsman. Pant will play as a wicketkeeper. Sanju was a lackluster continuity three-four years ago, now he has improved. His India-A series was excellent and he did well in the Vijay Hazare Trophy as well. We see him as a pure top-order batsman.
