After playing a key role in space exploration for over 16 years, NASA said that its Spitzer Space Telescope will be shut down on Thursday 31 January. The Spitzer Space Telescope provided critical infrared data to scientists.

The Spitzer Space Telescope is an astronomical telescope located in space as an artificial satellite. It examines various objects of the universe in infrared light. It was sent to space by the American Space Research Organization in 2003 through rockets.

NASA reported that the Spitzer Telescope rotates in orbit around the Sun. He has gone far beyond the imaginations of his designers. The telescope also discovered planets outside our solar system, called exoplanets and galaxies, from the beginning of the universe.

In total, Spitzer analyzed 8 million celestial targets under its $ 140 million mission and studied over 3 lakh 60 thousand photographs.

NASA’s director of astrophysics Paul Hertz said it would be nice if all our telescopes were able to operate forever, but that is not possible. For more than 16 years, Spitzer gave astronomers in science work the opportunity to transcend their simulations and work in space. Its biggest feature is the use of infrared light to monitor the universe.
