Washington After the moon, scientists have now gone a step further to cover the mysteries of the Sun. Solar Orbiter has been released as part of this step, which will travel about 4 crores 18 lakh kilometers in about 7 years to reach the Sun. It will take about seven years to cross this distance. The orbiter was launched from the Cape Canaveral Space Center in Florida at around 9:33 am Monday with the help of a ‘United Launch Alliance Atlas V’ rocket. Scientists are very hopeful about this orbiter. The US space agency NASA (NASA) and the European Space Agency (ESA) are working together on this mission. Both the tweets have also given many tweets to this mission.
Major work of orbiter
This orbiter will take photographs of the Sun’s poles for the first time. It has 10 devices installed including six cameras with high resolution. For the first time, through this orbiter, scientists will be able to get information about the poles of the sun. This mission is also very special because before now, no vehicle or any orbiter has been able to take pictures of the sun so close. This Orbiton will also be helpful in finding answers to questions to which we do not currently have answers. Along with this, it will also examine the current charged particles on the surface of the sun, the flow of air, the magnetic field inside the sun and the heliosphere produced from it.
View from a special height
This orbiter will be ejected from the ecliptic plane to capture photographs of the North and South Pole of the Sun. Scientists will place it above the orbit of Earth and Venus at a place where the view of both the poles of the sun will be visible. Scientists will rotate it by 24 degrees after reaching its destination. Which will make it possible. Scientists hope that with this information, our thinking will also change.
Special shield
Let us tell you that the temperature of the outer surface of the sun is 5,778 K (5,505 ° C, 9,941 ° F). This is the reason why it is impossible to get close to it. Such a temperature can kill anything in a few seconds. Solar orbiters will also face similar high temperatures. But to protect from this ash-forming temperature, a special kind of shield has been installed in this orbiter. For this calcium phosphate is coated on this shield. This type of coating was used thousands of years ago by humans in making murals in caves.
Many secrets can be revealed
European Space Astronomy Center scientist Yannis Jugnelis says that even after so many years our hands are still empty. But now after this initiative, scientists will be able to know how the sun affects the weather of other planets including the Earth. Apart from this, it will also be able to know how everyday technologies like astronauts, satellites, radio and GPS are affected due to the sun.
Batteries will be charged with solar panel
The ESA has tweeted that the orbiter has separated from the rocket and moved towards its destination. This orbiter is like wings. They will charge the batteries in this orbiter with sunlight and the orbiter will be able to do its work.
