Smuggling of petrol and diesel from Nepal to India

Due to rising petrol and diesel prices in India, the cases of smuggling of oil from Nepal have increased these days. Diesel-petrol going to Nepal by buying from India is cheaper from 23 to 27 rupees there. The business of petrol pumps in the border areas of India has been affected.

There is the movement of Nepalese vehicles in Raxaul city bordering Nepal. At the same time, Indian vehicles are being seen in the city of Veerganj towards Nepal. The Raxaul-Veerganj border route is the main trade route of India-Nepal.

A large number of trucks and oil tankers pass through this route throughout the day. The troops of Nepal Sentinel on the border seized a tanker smuggling oil on Thursday, in which 1360 liters of petrol was recovered.

Three people have been arrested in this case. After the issue of oil smuggling came to light, the vigilance of the personnel of Sashastra Seema Bal has increased on the Indian border. Although smuggling is not stopping due to most of the border being open.
