Sitaram Yechury’s son Ashish dies of COVID infection
Yechury himself gave information by tweeting
The eldest son of CPI (M) leader Sitaram Yechury died on the morning of 22 April due to Corona virus. Yechury himself has given information about this by tweeting. His elder son’s name was Ashish and he was fighting a battle with Covid.
Sitaram Yechury wrote on Twitter, “It is with great sadness that I have to inform that I lost my elder son, Ashish Yechury to COVID-19 this morning.”

Yechury thanked the doctors, nurses and frontline health workers, sanitation workers besides Ashish.
Outbreak of corona infection is increasing in the country. More than two lakh cases are coming in the country for the last several days. More than 2.94 lakh new Covid cases were reported for the first time after the epidemic started on 21 April. Apart from this, there were also more than 2000 deaths.

Many states of the country are also facing shortage of medical oxygen and ICU beds. On April 21, there was also a hearing in the Delhi High Court regarding the lack of oxygen. The court had asked the Center to ensure oxygen supply while reprimanding it.
