Silent and environment friendly! Exciting upcoming EV’s for the Indian market

Due to the rising prices of petrol and diesel in India, most car companies are now adding electric cars to their portfolio. The first name in this list comes from the country’s leading automaker Tata Motors. Nexon EV is currently being sold in India by Tata Motors. But now the name of another giant Indian company is going to be included in the list of electric cars soon. This company is none other than Mahindra & Mahindra. Mahindra will soon launch two new electric cars in India, the EXUV 300 and EKUV100, while Tata Motors is also going to introduce the electric avatar of its premium hatchback Altroz. Let’s take a look at the upcoming electric cars.

Tata has big plans for the upcoming Altroz EV

Indigenous automaker Tata Altroz EV is certainly one of the much-awaited electric vehicle launches of next year. The hatchback will be powered by the brand’s Ziptron electric powertrain that does the duty in the Nexon EV. If reports are to be believed, the electric version of the Altroz will feature an additional battery pack that can increase its driving range by 25-40%. It can offer a range of around 500 km. The electric hatchback can also be equipped with the new ZConnect app with 35 connected car features.

Updated Hyundai Kona

Hyundai unveiled the updated Kona electric SUV in November 2020 and is expected to launch early next year. The facelift model will see noticeable changes on the inside and outside along with some mechanical changes. The 2022 Hyundai Kona comes with a shift-by-wire system and a smart adjustable regenerative braking system. Its long-range variant comes with a 64kWh battery with a 204PS electric motor and the standard model gets a 39.2kWh battery pack with an electric motor. This long-range variant claims to offer the highest range in the segment of 484 km, while the standard model is capable of delivering a driving range of up to 305 km.

Mahindra and Mahindra to enter the EV race

Mahindra & Mahindra has confirmed that it will bring the electric model of the XUV300 subcompact SUV in 2022. The model will be offered in Standard and Long Range variants, which offer a range of around 200k and 375km, respectively, on a single charge. That is, the electric range of Mahindra e-XUV300 will be more than that of Tata Nexon. It is built on Mahindra Scalable and Modular Architecture. Let us tell you that the EXUV 300 will present a tough challenge to Tata Nexon, the bestselling EV in the country. Apart from this, Mahindra is also preparing to launch its eKUV100 in India. Which will compete with Tata’s Altroz and MG’s upcoming EV.
