During this period, S Jaishankar is expected to meet UN Secretary-General Antonio Gutarais in New York. He will then also meet with American counterpart Antony Blinken. S Jaishankar can discuss the purchase of the vaccine with American leaders and other stakeholders.

The United States has said many times in the past that it will not back down from doing all possible help to India in the ongoing war against the coronavirus. At the same time, many US lawmakers have also urged President Joe Biden to help India in its hour of crisis regarding the vaccine.
