Russia claims in United Nations, 3000 people associated with ISIS still exist in Syria

Russia’s Deputy Permanent Representative at the United Nations Gennadi Kuzmin said on Tuesday that about 3,000 people belonging to the banned terrorist group ISIS are still present in Syria. He said that at present the total number of members of the Islamic State [ISIS] and their allies in Syria is up to about 3,000. 

The ambassador said that apart from these, the rest of the terrorist group is also present in Syria. He told that most of them are ready to fight. Even though US-led forces captured all ISIS-occupied territories in Syria and Iraq earlier this year, this militant group still exists in the region, as well as responsibility for several minor attacks. Ban on ISIS Khorasan in South Asia The
United Nations Security Council banned ISIS Khorasan this year, which is trying to gain a foothold in South Asia, including India. It has been banned for having links with al-Qaeda and for conducting several attacks in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

This terrorist organization was formed in 2015 by a Pakistani citizen and a former commander of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. More than 150 people were killed and a large number of people were injured in these attacks.
