National Cricket Academy (NCA) chief Rahul Dravid and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) employee Mayank Parikh are to appear before BCCI Ethics Officer DK Jain on the conflict of interest issue.
National Cricket Academy (NCA) chief Rahul Dravid and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) employee Mayank Parikh are to appear before BCCI Ethics Officer DK Jain on the ‘Conflict of Interest’ issue. A lifelong member of the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA), Sanjeev Gupta raised the issue of conflict of interest when the former captain of the Indian team was made the chairman of NCA and said that Dravid is an employee of India Cements.
In response, Chairman of the Committee of Administrators (COA) Vinod Rai had said that Dravid has resigned from that post, but another member of the COA had said that Dravid had taken leave from the company. It will be interesting to see how Jain takes this issue and how the BCCI defends the issue.
At the same time, Parikh is associated with many clubs that have the right to vote in the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), as well as being an employee of the BCCI. The same situation was with the late MV Sridhar, who had to resign as General Manager (Cricket Operations).
DK Jain Lodha is very serious about implementing the recommendations of the committee and the decisions of the Supreme Court. He also recently prevented former captain Sourav Ganguly from holding different positions. Although Jain had given the benefit of doubt to Ganguly, he also said that he should not continue in the post more than once.
