Team India’s opener Prithvi Shaw, who failed in the first Test against New Zealand, has returned in the second Test. In the second and last match of the two-match Test series being played in Christchurch, Prithvi Shaw finally got a half-century off the bat. Prithvi Shaw scored 54 runs in 64 balls. Shaw hit eight fours and a six in his innings. Earlier in the first Test played in Wellington, Prithvi Shaw scored 16 runs in the first innings, while in the second innings he was dismissed by 14 runs.

There was a demand to include Shubman Gill in place of Prithvi Shaw in the second Test, but Prithvi Shaw was retained in the playing eleven, after which he made a half-century. In the Christchurch Test match, Prithvi Shaw has made a big record after scoring a half-century. Prithvi Shaw has become the second youngest player from India to score a half-century in Test matches on New Zealand soil.
