People Freed From The Clutches Of IS, Expressed Their Pain

Those freed from the clutches of terrorist organization IS during a press conference in Mumbai recalled their tragic days. Recalling the harassment of a Yazidi rape victim, IS said, ‘When I was 13 years old, the IS took me hostage. He treated me brutally for about a year. During that time I was sold to the terrorists thrice. ‘Hussain Al Qadi, director of the Office of the Free Yazidis, along with some rape victims, held a press conference in collaboration with local NGOs in Mumbai.

They recalled the tragedy that had taken place in the clutches of IS in Sinjar, northern Iraq. The victim was held hostage by IS on 3 August 2014. One victim said that she was repeatedly sexually assaulted and sold thrice to the terrorists. The tragedy of a year under hostage has left countless forgettable stains on her life.

Victims called the withdrawal of US forces from Sinjar a bad decision. This will increase the terror of IS in the region. Especially minorities like Yazidi will become easy targets. The victims of persecution at the hands of the Kurdish regional government and the IS have demanded the international community to assist in rehabilitation. Sinjar was captured by IS in 2014. Then thousands of Yajidis were forced to flee there. Those caught were either buried alive or burnt alive. The boys were trained to become terrorists and the women were raped. She was made a sexual slave or married to IS terrorists.
