Our batting pole opened at number 3 after World Cup: Gavaskar

Sunil Gavaskar has said that after the number 3 in the World Cup, our batting collapsed, which we had to endure in the semi-final against New Zealand.

Sunil Gavaskar

Team India’s former captain Sunil Gavaskar has said that after the number 3 in the World Cup, our batting collapsed, which led to the loss of us in the semi-final against New Zealand. In a special interview with IANS, Gavaskar has curtailed many untold and unknowable things.

A selected fraction of interviews

Strategically, India had a shortage of batsmen in the middle order in the 2019 World Cup, and one day it came that when the middle-order of the entire batting opened? On this question, Gavaskar said, “Our batting in the 2019 World Cup was not just after number 3. If these batsmen did not make runs, then we were always in trouble. This happened with us in the semi-finals. ‘

Gavaskar was asked, “If we count Lokesh Rahul, then we needed to feed the four wicketkeepers, while we had a talented player more than one in India? On this, Gavaskar said, ‘Only the team management can answer the question.’

Ravi Shastri is constantly saying that today’s team is India’s longest cricket team. There is a lot of good bowling attack in today’s team, but what’s beyond this? ‘ In response to this question, Gavaskar said, “Everyone has the freedom to hold their opinion and there is no harm in it.”

Gavaskar said about his retirement –

Is it true that when he had played an unprecedented inning in the Bangalore Test, facing the edge of Iqbal Qasim and Taufeefe Ahmed, then Pakistan captain Imran Khan had told him that this is the right time for you to retire and you do not wait for that time? ‘

Gavaskar said, ‘This is another story about me. The truth is that during the 1986 India tour of India, Imran and I were having lunch together and then I told Imran that I want to take retirement after this tour. On this, Imran had said that I should not do this because Pakistan is going to visit India in February. Imran said that his desire is to defeat India in India and if I am not in the team, his happiness will diminish. I told him that if the series with Pakistan was not announced until the England tour then I would retire after the series. Although the Pakistan series was announced in 14 days and therefore I decided to retire.

Gavaskar was asked – “You have participated in the World Cup after that and scored a lot in the ODIs along with his only century. Until that time, the gas in your tank was full of hunger? ‘

Gavaskar said, ‘Yes, there was a gas-filled in my tank (hunger was run) but I was not enjoying the car, and that is why I decided to retire.’

That said on Bombay Cricket-

‘What happened to Bombay Cricket? The youngsters of Maharashtra are stoking their full potential for Izzat and Shoharat, but where did the cricketer inside the boys of Mumbai go?

Gavaskar said, “This question is not to go down to Mumbai cricket. Now the circumstances have changed. In other states, the level of the game has become very high and this is the reason India has so many talented players today.

‘Do you think MS Dhoni had opened the way to make Indian cricket a democratic one and the result of this is that big player from small towns today have made big names in Indian cricket?’

Gavaskar said, ‘Did you forget India’s biggest match, Winner Kapil Dev? Kapil had proved earlier that you do not need to come from any metropolis to succeed. Before that, players coming from small towns were Colonel CK Nayudu, Vijay Hazare, Mushtaq Ali. It is a different matter that after Kapil’s success, there was a different way for the players of small towns.

Speaking on ‘relationship’ with Kapil-

Gavaskar was asked, ‘Many people wrote fiercely about your poor relationship with Kapil, but today the situation is that both of you do not appreciate each other.’

Gavaskar said, “Indian cricket is full of stories. Here cracks are common among players. This trend continues from the time of CK Nayudu. Today’s cricketers have a PR and that is why today such situations are not born because they are suppressed in the middle. For all of you, I would like to tell you that there is always respect for each other in my relationship with Kapil. We always kept in mind that before any other thing comes Indian cricket comes. ‘

Who was the most dangerous bowler?

Gavaskar was asked, “Today’s bowlers throw balls at 140-150 kilometers per hour, but in spite of this, does anyone have any fear? Who is the most dangerous of the fast bowlers you have faced in your eyes? Whether the length of the ball was important or the wicket was vital.

Gavaskar said, “Today’s batters are not afraid of physical injury. There has been a tremendous improvement in this direction as no one wants to take serious injuries on the field. The most dangerous of all the bowlers I have faced was Andy Roberts. He had the art of throwing such a ball in the 60th over, which was almost impossible to play. There was no restriction on the bouncer at that time and this was the reason that at that time there were balls of length which had to be played on backfoot. England, Australia and New Zealand used to have a lot of grass on the pitches.

YouTuber Praneeth Hanumanthu: Navigating Controversy and Consequences

In a shocking development, YouTuber Praneeth Hanumanthu has become embroiled in controversy following his detention by the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau. Initially arrested for making offensive remarks during a podcast, Hanumanthu's predicament has escalated, resulting in further allegations under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act after he tested positive for cannabis consumption. The Context of the Detention The origins of Hanumanthu's difficulties can be linked to a podcast he hosted, which included a conversation that many considered highly unseemly. During this episode, he made inappropriate comments regarding the dynamics between a father and daughter, igniting outrage among viewers and critics alike. This incident quickly garnered the attention of both the public and law enforcement, prompting an investigation by the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau. The primary allegation centered around his remarks, which were deemed to have crossed the boundaries of acceptable discourse. This scenario raises broader inquiries about accountability and the duties of content creators, particularly in an era where online platforms can amplify messages to a large audience. As a public figure, Hanumanthu's statements carry substantial weight, and the backlash he has encountered signifies society's increasing intolerance towards harmful rhetoric. Charges Related to Substances Things took a turn for the worse for Hanumanthu when, following his arrest, authorities opted to perform a drug test. The results confirmed the presence of cannabis in his system, leading to additional allegations under the NDPS Act. This legislation is a strict law in India aimed at combating substance abuse and trafficking. By testing positive for drug use, Hanumanthu not only worsened his legal troubles but also further tarnished his reputation. The addition of drug-related charges initiates an important discourse about the effects of substance use among influencers and celebrities. Many young individuals look up to figures like Hanumanthu, and such disclosures can have significant consequences on their perceptions and behaviors. The fallout from his actions extends beyond legal issues; it also encompasses the ethical obligations that accompany public visibility. Reactions from the Public and Consequences The public’s reaction to Hanumanthu's arrest has been varied. Many viewers voiced their outrage over both his initial remarks and his later substance use. Social media has been inundated with discussions, memes, and criticisms, illustrating the swift spread of information and opinions in today’s digital environment. Critics contend that individuals like Hanumanthu should be held accountable for their influence, particularly when it concerns endorsing a healthy lifestyle and responsible behavior. On the other hand, some supporters have rallied behind him, advocating for the necessity of empathy and understanding. They highlight the pressures that accompany being a public figure, especially in a hyper-connected world where every action is scrutinized. This divide in public sentiment mirrors a broader societal conversation about celebrity culture, accountability, and the intricacies of mental health and substance use. The Wider Picture of Substance Abuse Hanumanthu's situation is also part of a larger discourse regarding drug abuse in India, especially among the youth. As discussions about mental health and substance use become more widespread, incidents like this underscore the pressing need for awareness and education about addiction and its root causes. The stigma surrounding drug use often hampers open dialogue about the topic, leaving many to endure in silence. Moreover, the legal implications of the NDPS Act spark questions about how society addresses drug-related offenses. While the act aims to deter substance abuse, critics argue that such laws can disproportionately impact certain demographics and do not tackle the underlying causes of addiction. Conversations around harm reduction, rehabilitation, and public health strategies are increasingly relevant within the framework of these laws. Prospects Ahead for Hanumanthu As Hanumanthu navigates the forthcoming legal hurdles, his future remains unpredictable. He faces possible legal repercussions for both his unsatisfactory comments and his substance use, which could greatly affect his career and personal life. The scenario serves as a cautionary example for content creators about the consequences of their expressions and actions, highlighting the need for thoughtful engagement with their audience.…
