- In next two weeks, onion may become cheaper by 25 rupees after Rabi harvest

There is a lot of relief news for the common people. For the coming two weeks or so, before the arrival of Holi, people of the country will start getting cheap onions. The reason for this is the arrival of the Rabi crop. After which the price of onion may fall by up to Rs 25 per kg. At present, onion prices have crossed Rs 60 per kg in the country’s capital Delhi. As soon as the new crop arrives, the prices will start decreasing.
Onion prices on the sky
The price of Onions has skyrocketed again. The retail price of onion has been hovering around Rs 50 in the last three weeks in Delhi and the nearby areas of the capital of the country, which has now gone above Rs 60. At present there is no hope of getting relief from onion inflation. Traders say that at least 15 days and onion prices are unlikely to fall, as the rabi crop will hit the market in March itself.
The price of onion in the Mandi, which was considered as the biggest market of fruits and vegetables in Asia, in Azadpur mandi in the national capital Delhi on Saturday, the wholesale price of onions was Rs 12.50 to Rs 45 per kg, while the model rate was Rs 31.25 per kg. Prices in major mandis of onion growing areas of Maharashtra were also recorded between Rs 20 and Rs 43 per kg.
Onion prices in Nashik
Onion prices in Nashik are also higher than Nasik onion is being sold at the highest price. Reason, Nashik onion arrivals are decreasing. Onion production takes place in almost all regions of the country, but Maharashtra Nashik is considered to be the major onion growing region. Businessmen say that the quality of Nashik’s onion is good and this onion lasts for a long time, meaning it is not spoiled.
An increase of Rs 10 a week
Horticulture Producer Exporters Association president Ajit Shah said that at this time, inward prices are coming down by about 30%, due to which onion prices have increased by about Rs 10 per kg in the last week. He said that a new crop of onions will come down in the next fortnight after which the price will fall.
In two to three jobs
General Secretary Rajendra Sharma’s business and Potato and Onion Merchant Association Azadpur mandi in Delhi said that the curb on onion prices increased arrivals of winter crop season. He said that now another 15-20 days will have to wait for onion prices to fall.
