ODI rankings: Kohli reign continues, Rohit remains at number two

Indian team captain Virat Kohli and his partner Rohit Sharma have dominated the ICC ODI rankings.

Indian team captain Virat Kohli and his partner Rohit Sharma have dominated the ICC ODI rankings. In the latest ODI rankings released by the ICC, Kohli is in the first place, while Rohit is in second place. Kohli has 886 points and Rohit has 868 points. Both these batsmen played an important role in India’s series win in the third and final ODI match played against Australia on Sunday.

In the ODI rankings, Australian opener David Warner and captain Aaron Finch have gained one place each. David Warner has moved from seventh to sixth and Aaron Finch from 11th to 10th.

In the bowlers’ ODI rankings, India’s Yorkman Jasprit Bumrah (764), New Zealand’s Pacer Trent Boult (737) and Afghanistan off-spinner Mujib ur Rehman (701) are in the first, second and third position respectively. African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada (684) has moved up one place to fourth, while Australian pacer Pat Cummins (673) has slipped to fifth.

This is how Virat became stronger – Rohit

Indian captain Virat Kohli and vice-captain Rohit Sharma strengthened their hold on the first two places in the batting table of the ICC ODI rankings released on Monday. After a great performance in the recently concluded series against Australia, Kohli strengthened the number one and Rohit’s number two ranking.

India won the series 2–1. Kohli scored 183 runs in the three-match series against Australia, while Rohit scored 171 runs. Rohit had scored 119 runs in the third ODI in Bengaluru.

Dhawan climbed seven places

Babar Azam of Pakistan is third with 829 points. Left-handed opener Shikhar Dhawan scored 170 runs in two innings and moved up seven places to 15th. He was unable to bat in the third ODI due to a shoulder injury. KL Rahul, who started his innings, scored a total of 146 runs in three matches and climbed 21 places to reach the 50th position.

Steve Smith also benefited

Australia’s Steve Smith scored 229 runs in the series, including 131 runs in the final ODI. Due to this, he gained four places and reached number 23. David Warner also moved up one place to sixth, while captain Aaron Finch reached the tenth place.
