Patanjali and Himalayan drugs do not depend on China 

Companies like Patanjali and Himalaya do not have dependence on China for raw materials of cosmetic products. The products of both companies are completely indigenous. They supply raw materials from different states of the country, for which they have developed herbal clusters. Both companies use herbs, fruits, seeds, leaves, multani mitti, almonds, cultivars, turmeric, sandalwood, cloves, ritha, basil, rock salt, neem, etc. as raw materials in their products. .

As an alternative to chemicals, they use more than 50 flower essences. Among these, rose, marigold, champa, jasmine, lilly, gurjhal, kaner, mogra, orchid, zarbara, nitquin, gulmohar are the main ones. Both of these companies have a large range from shampoos to hair oils and face creams, all of which use indigenous raw materials. Patanjali buys mostly raw materials from the hill states. Some herbal products are imported from South Indian states.

Rajeev Kansal, manager of KTC cosmetic industry, says that a variety of products are being made in his industry including natural hair dye, mehndi, shampoos, face packs including face wash. The company is now going to increase its business with new technology. Herbal products are being prepared from the medicinal plants present in the state. In view of the demand, the prices have been reduced significantly.

Raw material available in India

Officials of Godrej India, Hindustan Unilever, VVF India and some other multinational companies say that they make products like soap, hand wash. The raw material used for these is available from Gujarat and Mumbai. Some meet the requirement of other machinery and equipment from other countries. The Godrej company in India is also trading in raw materials.
