Toll plaza
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has now issued guidelines to set a maximum service time of 10 seconds per vehicle at peak hours on toll plazas on national highways. Not only this, now no more than 100 meters long line of vehicles will be allowed on the toll plaza. The special thing is that if the line of vehicles exceeds 100 meters, then vehicles will be allowed to pay the toll without paying. The purpose of taking this step is to keep the traffic running smoothly without being interrupted.
The statement from NHAI stated that since fasting is mandatory in all vehicles, there is a relief from the long jam on toll plazas, which reduces the waiting time. However, if for some reason the line of vehicles at the toll plaza exceeds 100 meters, then vehicles coming in the 100-meter range from the toll booth will be allowed to leave from there without paying the toll. Since the issuance of new guidelines, now vehicles passing through the toll plaza will not have to stay for long, and will not have to pay a toll if it is late.
If you are wondering how it will be determined that there is a queue up to 100 meters at the toll plaza, then for this, a yellow line will be marked 100 meters from the toll booth which will tell that the vehicles are in the 100-meter range. Or have dropped out of that range. If vehicles remain inside the yellow line, then they will have to pay a toll but if the vehicle goes outside the yellow line or goes out of range, then all vehicles with a range of 100 meters will be allowed to proceed without paying the toll…
Due to the maximum service time of just 10 seconds, now the vehicles will not have to stop much and if this time increases by more than 10 seconds then it is obvious that the queue of vehicles will be more than 100 meters. This new facility will now make it very easy for vehicles to pass through the toll plaza and it will not take much time. In this process, the government is also promoting the use of Fastag which increases the ease of movement of vehicles.
