Scientists claim, corona infection does not cause extra risk to asthma patients
New York, IANS. A new study has been done on corona virus (covid-19) and asthma. It claims that no person is vulnerable to corona virus or due to its seriousness due to asthma disease. According to researchers at Rutgers University of America, asthma patients were not found to be seriously affected by corona compared to normal people.
Reynold Penettieri, director of the Rutgers Institute for Translational Medicine and Science, said, “The risk of Kovid-19 is considered to be a factor in old age, as well as heart disease, high blood pressure, lung disease, diabetes and obesity.” However, it is not yet proven that asthma can be a factor for corona infection.
According to a study published in the journal Allergy and Clinical Immunology, an enzyme is associated with the cell membranes of the lung, heart, kidney and intestine. This enzyme has been found to be a means of corona penetration into cells. This enzyme is also considered useful in cleaning other respiratory viruses especially in children.
However, it is not yet clear how the enzyme affects the ability of the corona to infect asthma patients. There is a risk of infection in the elderly who are suffering from asthma as well as high blood pressure, diabetes or heart disease.
Meanwhile, 239 scientists of the world claim that the particles of novel corona virus can infect people even while living in the air. A total of 239 scientists from 32 countries have written to the World Health Organization (WHO) asking them to consider these claims. Scientists say that despite following physical distance rules in indoor areas, others can easily become infected by air. Scientists say there is a need to wear an N-95 mask even when closed in the walls.
