Netflix has finally offered a low-cost mobile subscription plan for Indian users. The price of this subscription is Rs 199. Under this plan, users will be able to stream videos only in SD quality. This plan has been introduced only for Indian mobile and tablet users. This plan is very cheap with the company’s standard 499 plan. This plan is specially made for Indian users only.
Plan of Rs 199 for Netflix: This plan has been made available from today. In this, the video can be streamed in SD quality. In this, only one screen is being given to the users. Due to low-cost plans, TV casting support has not been given to it. The company has only launched a mobile-based plan because the percentage of sign-up on Netflix is higher in India. Most sign-ups are here on mobile. The company wants to bump Amazon Prime Video and Hotstar from this plan.
This plan is currently being tested. After this, it will join the portfolio of Rs 499, Rs 649 and Rs 799. Earlier, the company had been planning a plan of Rs 250, but the company had to re-think it to launch it. Let us tell you that for Hotstar, users have to pay a charge of Rs 299 per month. At the same time, Amazon Prime has to pay 129 rupees per month.
Ajay Arora, Product Innovation Director, Netflix said, “Our Indian users see more videos than their videos on their phones. They love to download our shows and movies. We believe this new plan will make Netflix even more accessible and better for those who prefer to watch videos on their smartphone or tablet. “
