India is the 5th most polluted country in the world

In the 2019 World Air Quality Report released by IQAir of Switzerland, India received PM2 in its air last year. Based on the volume of 5 (Particulate Matter), it is included as the 5th most polluted country in the world. Whereas Bangladesh (83.3 micrograms per cubic meter) was at number one.

University of Chicago Research on Air Pollution

The Energy Policy Institute of Chicago University of America has revealed after a research that the average age of people in India is decreasing due to air pollution, which is 5.2 years according to World Health Organization standards and 2.3 as per national standards. The year is getting shorter. After Bangladesh, India is the second country in the world where the age of people is decreasing rapidly. According to one study, a large proportion of India’s 1.4 billion population lives in places where the average level of particulate pollution is higher than WHO standards. 84 per cent of the people live in places where pollution levels are higher than the standards set by India. The report said that a quarter of India’s population is forced to live in highly polluted air.

Air pollution is increasing respiratory diseases

According to the National Health Profile 2018 report, the percentage of respiratory diseases among the infectious diseases occurring in the country is around 69% and more than 23% of deaths across the country are now due to air pollution. Various reports have also revealed the fact that India. The average outbreak of PM2.5 in people is 90 micrograms per cubic meter. The amount of pollutants in the air has increased by nearly 69 percent nationwide over the last two decades, and has now decreased to 5.2 years according to a University of Chicago study, compared to the Life Expectancy Index, which was 2.2 years lower in 1998. Researchers say that this situation can be improved by improving air quality.
