West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced on Saturday that the state government would soon implement a social security scheme to provide financial assistance to media personnel. He made this announcement on the occasion of ‘International Day to End Impunity for Crime for Journalists’. Banerjee tweeted, apart from ‘Mabhoi’, a health insurance scheme for accredited journalists, our government is going to implement a social security scheme soon.
