Mamta Banerjee’s Big Announcement, To Implement The Scheme In T0he State For Financial Help Of Media Workers

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced on Saturday that the state government would soon implement a social security scheme to provide financial assistance to media personnel. He made this announcement on the occasion of ‘International Day to End Impunity for Crime for Journalists’. Mamta Banerjee tweeted, and wrote that today is the international day for the end of crimes against journalists. Banerjee tweeted, apart from ‘Mabhoi’, a health insurance scheme for accredited journalists, our government is going to implement a social security scheme soon.

November 2 marked ‘International Day of Crimes Against Journalists’ following a proposal to condemn violence and violence against journalists and media persons at the General Assembly resolution in 2013. According to the United Nations, the proposal urges member states to implement certain measures, given the impact of the current culture.
