Learn Why Security Has Been Increased In These Districts Of India Adjacent To Nepal Gorakhpur News

Read Time:1 Minute, 55 Second

In view of Republic Day, patrolling has been increased along the border with Nepal. So that the anti-national elements who are trying to carry out terrorist activities in the country cannot misuse the open border between the two countries. ADG Dawa Sherpa has written a letter to the police captains of the districts bordering the Nepal border to continuously patrol the border area and coordinate with the SSB deployed for border security. Both countries have been directed to keep a close watch on the connecting routes.

Nepal’s border is adjacent to these districts

Nepal is bordered by six zone districts of Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Bahraich, Balrampur and Shravasti district. Authorized routes for movement between the two countries are set, but for the daily needs of the villagers living in the border areas in both countries, there is movement from one country to another several times a day. For this, they have made footpaths at their convenience. There are strict security arrangements at all times on authorized routes, but it is not possible to make security arrangements on footpaths. Though the SSB jawans constantly patrol and keep an eye on these routes, the movement of these routes is not stopped.

There is movement through footpaths

Elements that carry out criminal or terrorist activities enter the border of the country only using footpaths. In view of this, ADG Zone has issued an alert in view of 26 January. He has instructed to keep a special watch on the trails along the trails as well as those seen suspicious in the border area. However, on the 22nd of December, the border is already being guarded after input from intelligence agencies of two militants seen in Siliguri fleeing to Nepal via Kushinagar, Maharajganj or Siddharthnagar district. ADG Zone has directed to increase it further.

Fact file

  • Nepal’s border with India is 1751 km long
  • Nepal borders 454 km from Uttar Pradesh
  • Around 300 km border is connected to Gorakhpur zone

104 footpaths have been done at Maharajganj. Already guarding is being done on the marked Nepalese border. This has been further increased in view of Republic Day. No unwanted elements will be allowed to misuse the open border. – Dawa Sherpa, ADG Zone
