India has reached number three in case of forced marriages with British citizens. It has been revealed by the new UK government statistics. Most of these cases come from Pakistan.
A whole story is Punjabi (learning) and Pakistanis. In this British means, the Anglo-Axon people are not talking about.
In 2018, 110 cases were registered in British India’s joint home and joint venture for forced marriage unit (FME), where British nationals had to forcibly get married.
For the most forced marriage, 769 cases were linked to Pakistan. After this, 157 cases related to Bangladesh came out. Last year, Somalia was in fourth place with 46 cases.
FMU said in its 2018 analysis released last week, “Forced marriage is not a problem related to any one country or culture. Since 2011 FMU has been seeing such cases related to more than 110 countries in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and North America. In the year 2017, 82 cases of this kind were related to India. In the same way, 79 cases were registered in 2016.
