Lalu Yadav Convicted in Fourth Fodder Scam Case
Famous Bihar Politician and RJD chief, Lalu Prasad Yadav has been convicted to the fourth fodder scam case of 3.13 Crores rupees on Monday which registered in the year 1996 and has been sentenced to a jail term of 5 years.
Here’s presenting you the timeline of the Fodder Scam Case-
January 1996 – Deputy Commissioner Amit Khare raids the offices of Animal Husbandry Department and allegedly seizes the documents which showed the funding to the nonexistent companies.
March 1996 – CBI has given the charge to investigate the Scam.
March 1996 – FIR registered by CBI against Chaibasa treasury Case
June 1997 – CBI creates charge sheet against Lalu Prasad Yadav
July 1997 – Lalu Prasad surrenders before CBI court
April 2000– Charges framed before special CBI Court
October 2001 – Supreme Court handovers the fodder scam case to the newly created state of Jharkhand
February 2002 – The courtroom trail begins in Ranchi
September 2013 – Former Bihar Chief Minister Jagannath Mishra and 43 others along Lalu Prasad Yadav are convicted by special CBI Judge Pravas Kumar Singh
October 2013 – Lalu Prasad Yadav sentenced to five years in jail along with 25 lakh rupees of fine. Jagannath Mishra sentenced to 4-year imprisonment.
December 2013 – Lalu Prasad Yadav gets bail
December 2017 – CBI Special court finds Lalu Yadav and 17 other guilty for the fodder case.
March 19, 2018 – Ranchi Court convicts Lalu Yadav in the fourth case linked to fodder scam.
