Bengaluru, Agencies. Karnataka Bypolls Result 2019:  Counting was done for the by-elections in 15 assembly seats in Karnataka. According to the information so far, the BJP has won three seats, while leading in nine seats. On the other hand, Congress is ahead in two seats. Independent candidate leads in one seat. Meanwhile, Congress leader Siddaramaiah has resigned as the leader of the Congress Legislature Party and the Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly.  .

Siddaramaiah said that I should respect democracy. I have submitted my resignation to Sonia Gandhi. I have also resigned as the Leader of Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly.

Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa said that I am happy that people have given us a good majority. Now we will give the people of the state a problem free and stable government without any problem.

Happy with BJP’s unprecedented lead in counting, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa fed sweets to his son BY Vijayendra.

In this by-election, Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa needs to win at least six seats to save the government. The current trends indicate that his government is no longer in danger. Let us know that in the 224-seat assembly in Karnataka, BJP has 105, Congress has 66 and JDS has 34 MLAs. Not only this, a BSP also has MLA in the assembly. Due to pending case in the High Court, two seats in the Assembly are vacant but no by-election has been held.

A total of 165 candidates stood in the fray in the 15 assembly segments of Karnataka, which included 126 independents and nine women. BJP and Congress contested all 15 assembly seats while JDS had fielded candidates in 12 seats. BJP had fielded 11 rebel disqualified MLAs who had left the Congress and JDS in the elections. He joined BJP on November 14. The Supreme Court in its ruling on 13 November had allowed them to contest again, keeping the disqualification of the MLAs.
