Jammu Kashmir Coronavirus: Deputy Governor GC Murmu Directed To Ensure Availability Of Masks For Every Citizen

Jammu and Kashmir administration has waged a decisive battle against the corona virus. The administration will now make sure to wear masks for every citizen to protect the people of the state from infection and prevent the virus from spreading. In a high-level meeting at Raj Bhavan on Thursday night, Lieutenant Governor GC Murmu directed the officials to ensure the availability of masks for each citizen. With this, orders for disinfection tunnels (Viral Tunnels) were also established in all the hospitals and all the offices having more traffic of common people. Murmu also directed all the people associated with the Tablighi Jamaat who had returned from Delhi to become a cause of crisis for the whole country, to ensure the screening and quarantine process of 100 per cent of the people associated with them.

According to the information, a meeting was convened by Lt. Governor Murmu to review the situation arising out of the ever increasing cases of Corona virus infection in Jammu and Kashmir and the strategy being adopted against this epidemic. The meeting, which lasted till eleven o’clock at night, was attended by Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam, Finance Finance Department Arun Kumar Mehta, Financial Health Department, Atal Dullu and other administrative secretaries.

In the meeting, Murmu instructed to run a regular campaign to create awareness among the people that it is necessary to break the chain of infection. For this, engage the services of representatives of Panchayats and urban bodies along with religious and social leaders.

He said that people should be encouraged to use Ayurvedic medicines for the development of their immunity. Asked to install them on the basis of. The Lieutenant Governor said that these should be installed in all important offices and public places.

Taking cognizance of the problems of the agriculture and horticulture sector due to the lockdown, Lieutenant Governor GC Murmu directed to allow work in all factories associated with the production of seeds, fertilizers, animal feed. He said that the concerned authorities should streamline the supply of essential materials especially perishable items in the entire state.

He asked all banks to issue instructions for transfer of relief amount to the concerned people without any restriction in terms of distribution of relief package to the beneficiaries. He also called for taking appropriate steps to maintain the availability of cash at all ATMs.

The Lt. Governor insisted on creating a data base of all volunteers engaged in relief work, so that their training can be ensured before including them in the process of handling Kovid-19. He asked all the old age homes, child improvement homes and child ashrams to ensure regular health check-ups of the people living in them with adequate help. He asked the doctors to send a team of doctors for regular check-up in the camps of the workers of external states affected by the lockdown and to prepare the database of these workers in order to arrange to send them to their homes after the lockdown.
