new Delhi. Outgoing Finance Minister Arun Jaitley (66 years) wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday and expressed his inability to join the new government. Jaitley has cited health reasons in the letter. After assuming office in 2014, Modi handed over the responsibility of three ministries – finance, defense and information and broadcasting to Jaitley. Jaitley’s health has not been completely correct since the Kidney Transplant in May last year. In February, he could not even present the interim budget. At that time Jaitley was getting treatment in America. In his place, Piyush Goyal presented the budget.

Due to poor health, Arun Jaitley was unable to present the interim budget this year.

Jaitley wrote in the letter: “Being a part of government for the last five years was a proud and learning experience for me. Over the last 18 months I have been suffering from serious health problems. However, my doctors helped me out of most diseases. Before the end of your (Modi) election campaign and going to Kedarnath, I had told you in a verbal manner that I will not be able to join the new government. Even after this, I will be informally helping the party and the government. ”

Jaitley could not go to office for three weeks: formula
According to the formulas, Jaitley’s health has been worse than last few weeks. He was also admitted to AIIMS for some tests. Doctors have advised them to go to UK and US for treatment. They have not gone to office for the past three weeks. After the party’s victory in the Lok Sabha elections, he was not seen in the program at the BJP office. Last Friday did not even attend the cabinet meeting.

Jaitley was twice in charge of the Ministry of Defense

After the formation of Modi government in May 2014, Jaitley was given charge of the Ministry of Finance and Defense. He was the defense minister for six months in 2014. Manohar Parrikar was later made defense minister. After being made the Chief Minister of Goa, Jaitley was given the charge again in 2017 for six months. Later, Nirmala Sitharaman became defense minister in his place. Due to Jaitley’s illness, Piyush Goyal twice took over the finance ministry.
