Saudi Arabia: Iran’s involvement in an attack on an oil company is proof

Read Time:1 Minute, 36 Second
Saudi Arabia’s Defense Ministry showed debris of drones and cruise missiles, saying that this was evidence of Iran’s involvement in the attack on its two oil installations.

The ministry says that 18 drones and seven cruise missiles used in the attack came from the same direction and this suggests that they cannot be Yemen’s source.

Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen had claimed earlier and claimed responsibility for the attack.

Iran has denied any allegations of involvement in this and warned that it will respond to any military action.

But the Saudi Arabian Defense Ministry says that the wreckage shows that ‘these attacks were without a doubt sponsored by Iran.

However, the Ministry did not say where these weapons were launched.

US President Donald Trump had said earlier on Wednesday that he had asked for tougher US sanctions on Iran.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday and is scheduled to meet King Salman’s son Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Proof claim

Spokesperson Colonel Turki al-Malki said that the exact information from where these drones were launched is being tried to find out.

He said, “The data recovered from the UAV computers shows that it is from Iran.”

He said that 18 UAVs (drones) were fired at Baqiq oil installations and seven cruise missiles were fired at both the installations. Four of them fell in the Khoras oil field and three others fell near Bukki.

Malki said that all these missiles were fired from the northern direction. He showed a video of a UAV fired on the back. In addition, he showed the map and pictures of the loss.

He said of the attack on Khuras that the exact impact of the cruise missiles reflects Iran’s advanced capability beyond its visible capability.

He called these attacks an attack on the international community. He demanded that the responsible people be held accountable for their actions.
