IPL 2020 Final Afraid of Corona, Rohit Sharma did not put IPL trophy on the field after victory
The Mumbai Indians team won the title of the 13th season of the Indian Premier League. Under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, the team won the IPL title for the 5th time and became the first team in the history of the tournament to do so. This time the tournament was played outside of India in the UAE because of Coroni. It was because of Corona that the winning captain Rohit could not touch the trophy after the victory.
The IPL final played on Tuesday 10 November was a memorable one. For the first time when the Delhi Capitals team came into the finals, Mumbai won their second consecutive title for the first time. In the final, Delhi batted first and set a target of 157 runs against Mumbai. On the basis of Rohit Sharma’s explosive innings, the team achieved the target in 18.4 overs by losing 5 wickets.
Rohit did not hand over the trophy
Even after becoming the champion of IPL 2020 due to the outbreak of Corona infection, the entire team lifted the trophy wearing globs in hand. Team captain Rohit was handed the champion’s trophy by BCCI President Sourav Ganguly. Rohit took the trophy wearing globs in his hands. He took it to the team and then everyone took it in hand and photographed it.
IPL was postponed due to Corona
This year’s IPL was scheduled to be held in India on 29 March but had to be postponed due to the outbreak of Corona epidemic. After the situation became normal, the BCCI decided to organize it in the UAE with the Emirates Cricket Board. Separate bio bubble was prepared for players and match officials. This tournament of 60 matches was successfully organized and people from all over the world enjoyed it.
