A case of attempt to fix in women’s cricket has come to light. In February this year, a member of the Indian women’s team was approached ahead of the limited-overs home series against England. The Anti-Corruption Branch of BCCI has filed a case against two youths named Rakesh Bafna and Jitendra Kothari in Bengaluru in this regard.
According to the report of Sportstar, Bafna contacted the player of the Indian women’s team. The player was offered a big amount of money to be involved in match-fixing.
Ajit Singh, head of BCCI’s ACU (Anti-Corruption Unit), told the Sports star, “We have filed a case against two youths in Bengaluru. This FIR is in relation to contacting one of our women players for match-fixing. This player had recorded the conversation with the person who made the offer.
A man named Kothari, who called himself sports manager, approached the female cricketer. According to reports, one lakh rupees was offered to fix each match.
