Virat and Rahane

The second match of the three-match Test series between India and South Africa is being played at the MCA Stadium in Pune. After winning the toss, Team India came out to bat and scored 280 runs after losing 3 wickets. Virat Kohli (69 runs) and Ajinkya Rahane (18 runs) are at the crease. Both have shared a 75-run partnership for the fourth wicket.

India batted a total of 85.1 overs on the first day and the umpires decided to end the first day due to poor light. Opener Mayank Agarwal played the best innings of 108 runs, giving India a strong start on the first day. From South Africa, only fast bowler Kagiso Rabada was successful. He took three wickets for 48 runs in 18.1 overs.

Mayank Agarwal’s second Test century

Mayank Agarwal maintained his superb form and scored a century in the second Test against South Africa. This was the second century of Mayank’s Test career. Mayank Agarwal hit an innings of 108 runs, during which he hit 16 fours and 2 sixes. Let me tell you that Mayank Agarwal is playing his second Test match in India. Mayank Agarwal had also scored a century in the first Test match played in Visakhapatnam which was his first Test century which he managed to convert into a double. Mayank then scored 215 runs, during which he hit 23 fours and 6 sixes.

India’s innings

India started off slow to bat first. Initially, the ball was moving and for this reason, both the openers Rohit Sharma and Mayank Agarwal were playing well. A similar ball from Kagiso Rabada took the outside edge of Rohit’s bat and went into the hands of wicketkeeper Quinton de Cock.

Rohit faced 35 balls and hit just one four. Rohit was out after scoring 14 runs. Pujara, who came after Rohit, also adopted a strategy to handle. 25 overs were bowled in the first session. In the first session, India lost wickets as Rohit Sharma (14).

Kagiso Rabada gave the second blow to India by dismissing Cheteshwar Pujara (58). Before being dismissed, Pujara shared 138 runs for the second wicket with Mayank. Pujara scored 58 runs off 112 balls with the help of nine fours. An excellent outsider from Rabada took the outside edge off Pujara’s bat and went into the slip where captain Faf du Plessis caught a good catch.

Team India won the toss

Team India captain Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to bat first and handed the bowling to host Africa. There has been a change in Team India. Umesh Yadav has been given a chance in the playing eleven in place of Hanuma Vihari. At the same time, South Africa has included Eric Nortje in the last 11 in place of Dan Pete.

This test match is the 50th Test match of Virat Kohli as captain. He is the second captain of India to do so. Prior to that, Mahendra Singh Dhoni has captained more than 50 Test matches for India.

This big record will be made by winning the series

The Indian team is on the threshold of winning a record 11 consecutive Test series at home. Team India has been winning Test series on its soil continuously since February 2013. At present, India and Australia are on a par with winning 10-10 Test home series in a row. Australia has won 10 consecutive Test series on its soil twice (November 1994 to November 2000 and July 2004 to November 2008).

This is India’s second Test match at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. Earlier the only Test on this ground was played between India and Australia on 23 February 2017. In this match, the Indian team lost by 333 runs.
