India US 15th dpg meeting both parties agree on collaboration in defence sector
Washington, Pret. The 15th India-US Defense Policy Group (DPG) meeting on Friday was held. During this meeting, agreed between the two countries on Friday for the cooperation between the defense industry and start-up and to create a policy environment.
The Indian side was led by Defense Secretary Sanjay Mitra. America was led by the Undersecretary of Defense for Policy John Rood.
Explain that DPG is the top official level meeting mechanism on defense issues between India and the US, which provides comprehensive review and guidance of all aspects of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
In view of the progress made in different areas of defense cooperation, in
this meeting, review of the progress made in various sectors of defense cooperation, including defense trade, technology, procurement, industry, R & D and military cooperation from the military, have been taken in recent years.
During this, the sides of both countries stressed on enabling prosperous defense agreements. Both countries appreciated India as a major defense partner of the United States.
Confirming the role of DPG,
in a statement issued by the Indian Embassy here, it said that the two countries underlined the importance of cooperation between the defense industry and start-up.
For this, it was agreed to pursue a favorable and policy environment. Various work groups and mechanisms under DPG gave information about the progress made in their area.
Both sides confirmed the role of DPG as an important part of this 2 + 2 system. This helped to turn the cooperation of the two countries into reality.
