India recorded a jump of 3,525 new cases of the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours, ending Wednesday morning. The total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus stood at 74,281 on Wednesday.
According to the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry, the total cases included 47,480 active cases, while 24,386 patients were cured or discharged.
As per the updated data on Wednesday, the death toll in India climbed to 2,415. As many as 122 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours in India.
On Tuesday, the death toll due to Covid-19 rose to 2,293 and the number of cases climbed to 70,756 in India. India registered an increase of 87 fatalities and 3,604 cases on Tuesday, according to the Union health ministry.
The highest number of confirmed cases continues to be from Maharashtra. The state tally on Wednesday stood at 24,427, followed by Gujarat (8,903), Tamil Nadu (8,718), Delhi (7,639), Rajasthan (4,126), Madhya Pradesh (3,986) and Uttar Pradesh (3,664).
